How did we get here?
Rooted Dog Training grew from a genuine love for dogs and a deep curiosity about how they think, feel, and learn.
My journey with dogs began over three years ago when I started my own dog walking business. What began as a way to spend more time with dogs quickly became something much more. Every walk, every interaction, and every unique personality I met taught me that dogs are individuals and that understanding them goes far beyond basic obedience.
Everything changed when I rescued my own dog Logan. Like many rescue dogs, he came with challenges that couldn’t be solved with quick fixes or one-size-fits-all training. Wanting to give my dog the best life possible sparked a deep interest in dog behaviour, communication, and relationship-based training. I immersed myself in learning, observing, and understanding why dogs do what they do.
That passion led me to take the next step in my career: working as a dog trainer for an award-winning training company. There, I gained hands-on experience with a wide range of dogs and families, further strengthening my belief that effective training is rooted in empathy, education, and trust.
Rooted Dog Training was created from the idea that lasting change happens when we meet dogs where they are. My approach is grounded in science-based methods, compassion, and the understanding that learning never truly stops for dogs or for humans.

Mission statement
The mission is to empower dogs and their people by training with clarity and compassion, to transfer reliable real world skills, deeper understanding and most importantly, build stronger human-canine relationships.
As research evolves and every dog teaches something new, my education and approach continue to grow. At Rooted Dog Training, the goal is simple: to help dogs and their people build strong, respectful relationships that allow both to thrive.
Training Methodologies
I prioritise on supporting strong relationships, helping you build clear communication skills with your dog. Every dog is unique in which training methods they would thrive with, so I pride myself on not providing a "cookie cutter" service.
I am a strong believer in behaviour is only one link of a very long chain of factors. Taking into consideration breed, health, and tapping into your dogs natural genetic drives there are so many factors that contribute to fulfilling a happy healthy life with your dog.
